Robert Bacon Sr. 88 of Pine Bluff, AR departed this life on Monday August 15, 2022, in Little Rock, AR. Robert was the twelfth child of thirteen born on June 28, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late William & Hattie Bacon. Robert was the last child living of William and Hattie.

Robert was a people person and the light to everyone that him. He loved to watch sports. Robert was a diehard Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Cavilers fan. He was a family man and loved each of his grandkids. He loved to play his lottery tickets and would always ask one of his grandkids to go play his ticket for him. Robert loved to tell stories about meeting Martin Luther King, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier and would tell us stories about how he met them. He would also tell us stories about things he did before there were TV’s. Robert loved to watch his Western tv shows and you could always catch him watching the news. Robert liked to drink coffee and Pepsi. He loved to eat Chip Ahoy cookies.

Robert met the love of his life in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He eventually married his love, Shirley Bacon. To this union three beautiful children were born; Robert Jr. (Lori) of Greensboro, North Carolina, Doris (Gary)Conaway and Melissa Bacon both of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Bacon, his parents William and Hattie Bacon. His siblings Edward Jackson, Doris Bacon, Ruth Bacon, Namoi McDonald, Blanche Bacon, Olive Terry, Esther Burse, Alice Bacon, Helen Sellers and Edith Bacon. His special nephew Jesse Bacon.

Robert leaves to cherish his three children Robert, Doris and Melissa. His grandchildren Andrea, Justina, Jessica, Justice, Nia and Nevaeh. His great grandchildren Jayliah, Kyshawn, Markevias, Brooklyn, and Amari. He also leaves to cherish many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Saturday August 27, 2022 at 11:00am at Destiny Worship Center, 4700 West 28th Street in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The family will receive friends Friday August 26, 2022 from 4:45pm to 5:45pm in the Hardy Funeral Home Memorial Chapel.​
