Mother Leola McLemore

Mother Leola McLemore, 91, was born to the late Theodore Johnson and Josephine Penn Johnson on March 16, 1931. She was born in Sicily Island, Louisiana, the oldest of three girls.

Mother McLemore graduated from Martin High School in Sicily Island, Louisiana. She was employed at Worthen Bank/Twin City Bank, retiring after twenty years of service. She loved working in her community among her friends and family. She was also an avid gardener.

She accepted Christ at an early age, and after moving to Little, she united with the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully until she moved from that area to West Little Rock. She then united with the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Pastor E.D. Doyle in June 1973, where she remained a faithful, loyal, loving member as she served as a mother of the church until her health failed.

The Lord came and picked a beautiful flower from his earthly garden early Thursday morning, July 28th, 2022.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Theodore and Josephine Johnson; sisters, Carrie Otis and Louise England; son, Mustafa Aadil; and grandson, Michael Johnson.
